Youth Mentorship Program

 

Cawrk has been liasing with its local youth community since its inaugural show. In the past, Cawrk has given Mississauga students the opportunity to volunteer as ushers, ticket booth assistants and tech assistants in order to gain their high school community service hours and in order to gain experience working in a theatre setting.

 

Cawrk has now extended its Youth Mentorship program to include youth seeking theatre and performance experience, as well as youth seeking experience in marketing, public relations and promotion. It is Cawrk's goal to educate youth and students in a hands-on way, and to have them learn about working in a professional theatre setting by "doing." 

 

The Youth Mentorship is intended to give young people an opportunity to create new connections in the performance world, to help them build their resumes, and some cases, to gain community services hours or an honorarium. 

 

This year, Cawrk is mentoring two youth through our band in the Shakespeare in Concert Production, Twelfth Night.
